Veedeo: Grizzly Bear - “Ready, Able”
These guys will forever be the kings of strange, and the video for their song “Ready, Able”, off of their latest album Veckatimest proves it.
This is definitely one of my favorite tracks off of the band’s breakthrough record, but I’ve gotta say, watching this claymation/insanity-invoking music video directed by Allison Schulnik makes me approach the track with a little apprehension. Are people going to start melting once I listen to this now? What if I don’t want to turn inside out? Does it really have to be so depressing?
This is definitely another egg in the basket of craziness that has been in the world of Grizzly Bear: The band also just recently got in a bus accident in Germany that forced them to cancel what would have been an amazing show, opening for Wilco in Milan last Saturday.
Either way, the band has been gaining a lot of speed lately (no bus accident pun intended), and member Chris Taylor should be releasing some of his own solo stuff in the near future (so far under the moniker CANT), so be sure to keep an eye on the headlines for that.
Hope you enjoy (or at least are not permanently disturbed by) the video!
Also, I’ll be heading to Everclear at the Murray Theater tonight, so check back here tomorrow for a Showtime! post from the sure-to-be-awesome show!
Thanks folks,
