South by Southwest has just recently announced the first few bands to be accepted to what has become their legendary giant lineup, put together every year throughout various parts of Austin, Texas. In a post on the festival’s Daily Chord blog, six bands from six different countries have confirmed that they will be playing at SXSW when it takes place in March of 2010, most notably the Canadian rock duo Japandroids, who will be ending their massive 6-month tour with the performance in Austin.
The six bands, along with their respective countries and links to their websites, can be found below, while the entire, sure to be monstrous, list of performers will be posted in January of 2010.
- Guilia y los Tellarini, from Barcelona, Spain
- The Hong Kong Blood Opera, from Hermosillo, Spain
- Archie Bronson Outfit, from London, England
- The Temper Trap, from Melbourne, Australia
- Japandroids, from Vancouver, Canada
- CHEW LiPS, from London, England
