“The Motion Makes Me Last” by Eluvium

"Similes" by Eluvium

So there’s a very good chance you’ve never in your life heard of the (now formally) instrumental project known as Eluvium; very few instrumental acts (save, perhaps, Ratatat) ever wind up getting hugely popular in the end. I highly recommend, however, changing this for the sake of Eluvium. The project, headed by Matthew Cooper, has an absolutely amazing, captivating tone to its discography so far (if you can, definitely check out 2005’s Talk Amongst the Trees or 2007’s Copia), and another record is about to be added to that list.

Interestingly enough, Cooper will be stepping away from the instrumental camp that he’s usually resided in for this one, as you can hear by clicking above. This song, “The Motion Makes Me Last”, is the first available song from the forthcoming album, titled Similes, which is set to be released next February. Cooper’s voice adds to the song very well I think, and the piano line that runs through it is just beautiful.

You can most definitely bet that this will be on my “studying” playlist, and I hope you enjoy listening to is as well!

Thanks,

Y!L!N!
