Festival Updates

We here at You! Listen! Now!, you may have noticed, have a thing for music.

We’ve also got this hobby of going to these live shows to hear some amazing artists in their “real” form, and one of the best ways to experience these things is by going to what are called “festivals”, which will sometimes have hundreds of bands performing over the space of multiple days. Now, we realize that all of you readers out there may have some similar interests that you share with us, and you may enjoy visiting these so-called “music fests” in your hometowns or otherwise around the world. And so, as we hear news of any and all music festivals going down in the near future, we’ll do our best to keep you updated with their happenings. In fact…don’t tell anyone, but you may receive some live updates from a certain one in the coming spring if you keep reading this ;)

Anyways, here we go:

Big Ears Festival - Knoxville, TN, March 26 - 28, 2010

According to the Big Ears Festival official website, “The mission of BIG EARS is to offer an exciting and dynamic platform of musical and artistic discovery by artists possessed of singular and unique visions that stand apart from the mainstream.”
…well, whatever they’re trying to say there, the fest looks really cool so far this time around. Along with an awesome lineup of bands, listed below, the Tennessee based festival will be hosting many different visual art exhibits, along with a good deal of films, screened throughout the city. The list of artists will be expanding in the near future as well, the website promises, with “over 30 bands and artists in nearly 50 performances during the weekend,” which, if you do the math, translates to certain groups doing multiple shows. Quite exciting indeed for just the second year of the festival.

And yea, it gets even more absurdly massive.

A couple weeks ago, I posted something talking about the legendarily huge festival called South by Southwest, based in Austin, Texas. Well, believe it or not, there are now 200 more groups that have been added to the already massive list, and there are even more to come.
