The first of many giddy posts.

Every spring in California, something magical happens: The grass grows greener, the winds start a-blowin’, the sun shines a little brighter, and God pisses musical ecstasy into the little desert-town of Indio in Southern California. This said piss is commonly known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the annual Woodstock of the new millennium.
And believe it or not, this lil’ blog will be taking a trip down to SoCal April 16th - 18th to cover the music orgy and bask in it’s mindblowing glory! And hey, since we’re getting started on this whole new year thing, now seems like the perfect time to get a-speculatin’ :)
Down below, you’ll find a list containing bands that have either “let slip” about their upcoming performance at the fest, or that have info that all basically points to their doing so. Bands in larger font are the confirmed ones, and the lil’ ones have yet to actually come forth and say anything official. Every band listed is also linked to the biggest proof I can provide to their attendance.
Hope this satiates y’alls until the dudes at Goldenvoice announce the full lineup around the end of the month!
- As Tall As Lions
- The Avett Brothers (Though it would have to be on the 16th, if at all)
- Band of Skulls
- Craze & Klever
- Devo
- Hot Chip (It might be kind of a long shot since they’d have to be in Chicago on the 19th, but they’re in California on the 16th…)
- Imogen Heap (Try, Imogen, TRY!)
- Miike Snow
- The xx (are on tour with Hot Chip during Coachella)
- Yeasayer (Once again notice the conveniently placed gap in between two very close dates on April 16-18)
- Hockey (at the very end of the interview, somewhat randomly…)
- Vampire Weekend (Ok, they HAVE to be playing Coachella, look at how perfectly those dates are lined up in April!)
- The Big Pink (tour dates end in California right before the fest…)
- Muse
Alrighty everyone, hope you’re as freaking stoked as I am about this! Also, although they have been heavily rumored to be playing, I couldn’t find any evidence that Them Crooked Vultures, The Dead Weather, Soundgarden, Pavement, or Gorillaz will actually be coming to the fest, so I guess we’ll just have to wait on them. Check back in the near future for updates though!
Love to all of ya,
