Veedeo: “Go Do” by Jónsi

For those of you who are die-hard fans of the Icelandic musical magicians Sigur Rós, you may be getting a little antsy for some new material now that two years have passed since the release of the group’s last album Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, which threw the band into a completely new direction from where they were before. Well, sadly enough, the frontman/angelic vocalist Jónsi has reported that the group won’t be doing anything for a little while, as “everyone is having babies.”

In the meantime, however, Jónsi has been working on a solo project that seems to tie very nicely to the last Sigur Rós album. Simply titled “Go”, the record is sounding a little more on the organic side (e.g. the video up above begins with pan-flute), and it is set to drop in April. Jónsi will be embarking on a tour to promote the record, including a date at the Coachella Music Festival, but for now, a video for what will most likely be the second single (after “Boy Lilikoi”, which was released in December), titled “Go Do” has been released on Jónsi’s website— And right here!

The video has some pretty odd elements…as a lot of Sigur Rós things tend to have, with this one including various scenes involving birds and Jónsi in a pretty damn strange costume, beating the hell out of a box. Pretty great song though, I definitely recommend checking it out.
